Celebrating the Queen's Jubilee
Today, we took part in lots of fun activities for the Queen's Jubilee.
We did some Art, sang the National Anthem outside, ate a street-party style lunch and played lots of fun games. We came to school in clothes that were red, white and blue.
It was a fantastic day and the children tried so hard!
Thursday 26th May
Look at our class poem we wrote for the Queen's jubilee.
We focussed on rhyming words.
We have learnt lots of interesting facts about the Queen this week. Can you tell someone at home one of the facts that you have learnt?
Collins E-Books
As many of you will be aware that we are now using Little Wandle (Letters and Sounds Revised) to teach the children phonics in school.
This entails teaching a half hour lesson every morning, followed with a Guided Reading session every afternoon. It is recommended that the children read the same book that they read in school at home too. This is the reason we have purchased the e-book system for you to access. However, if you prefer not to use the e-books but want to read the decodable and comprehension books that we send home too, then that is fine with us.
The most important thing, as I’m sure you’ll all agree, is that you and your child enjoy reading together.
For the Collins E-Books please follow this link:
Children were sent home with their username and password via a letter, however if you lost/forgotten this information, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks
