Crucial Crew

We had a super day at TCAT for Crucial Crew today, taking part in workshops which included water safety, avoiding Anti Social Behaviour, Fire Safety, Healthy Eating and stranger danger.

Edgmond Hall

We’ve had a wonderful day celebrating King Charles III coronation day! We took part in a lovely whole school assembly this morning, then this afternoon enjoyed a coronation puzzle, some coronation colouring and even scones with jam and cream!

Making Healthy Choices

We took part in a workshop all about how to have a healthy diet. We were shocked by the amount of sugar in foods that we eat regularly, and it made us think carefully about what we buy in future!

Team building

First Aid Workshop

We took part in a first aid workshop with the rest of KS2, learning all about simple first aid procedures we could use in the event of an emergency.

Commemorating the life of Queen Elizabeth II

We took part in a whole school remembrance service following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. We listened to the Bagpipe player, observed a minutes silence, and then completed a sequence of lessons about the Queen, her family and the role that monarchy play in British life.

Outdoor learning for literacy

We made sensory sticks using natural resources from around the school grounds. This is to help use write setting descriptions for the jungle as part of our literacy work.

Harvest Festival

We took part in the harvest festival, where we learnt about the meaning of harvest, and then each class shared their harvest work. We shared our class poem.

Black History Month Workshop

We took part in a workshop for Black History Month. We learnt that the theme for this year is crown and Commonwealth. We also had the opportunity to play lots of instruments from the Caribbean.

We completed an investigation to decide which type of beak would be the best for picking up food. We used different equipment to mimic the beaks of Darwin’s finches, to show how animals adapt to suit their environment.

Amazing ICT sessions

We have been lucky enough to work with Mr Smith from AmazingICT this half term. We have used Scratch to programme games, and learn what variables there are in coding and gaming.
