Meet the Governors

Meet the Governors

Stephen Bennett

I am the Chair of Governors and a Co-Opted Governor. I currently sit on the Finance & Personnel, Salaries & Grades, Premises and Health & Safety Committee together with the Strategic Leadership Committee.  My professional background is within Finance and I am a Director of a Financial Advice Practice.

Cllr Joy Francis

I have lived in Ketley all my life and have been a Governor since 2005 .  I was appointed by Telford and Wrekin Council when I was a Borough Councillor for Ketley, but now that term has ended I have stayed on as an Appeals Governor and Finance and Personnel, Salaries and Grades, Premises and Health and Safety Governor.I have been in education all my working life teaching in various schools in the area.  Now I run two Daycare Nurseries in Wellington. On the Governing body I have responsibility for Children in care and sit on Finance, and Health, Safety & Buildings Committees.  I am Link Governor for Early Years Foundation Stage which I love as it enables me to visit classes and play with the children!
I have four sons, all grown up now, and all of whom started their educational journey at Ketley Infant School - as did I many years ago!

Ben Goddard

I have lived in Telford all my life and I have worked in Education for 15 years and I am currently an Assistant Headteacher for an academy in Stoke-On-Trent. In my career I have taken many roles, from an unqualified teacher, head of department, trust-wide director with a great passion for teaching mathematics. The reason I became a teacher was to encourage young people to reach their potential and inspire the next generation. I have a daughter and a son who currently attend Meadows Primary School. I look forward to working as a parent governor alongside the school on its journey.

Samuel Millward Thomas

I have worked within the Education and Social Care sector since graduating from University. I have experience working with young people in a secondary school environment and have knowledge within Careers Advice and Guidance. I am also a Councillor at Ketley Parish Council and have worked with Meadows Primary to deliver a range of community projects. I am pleased to have been co-opted as a Governor in 2020 and look forward to working with the school.

Georgina Eccleston

My daughters Ella and Hollie are now pupils at Meadows Primary. I am a registered Adult Nurse and have been qualified seven years and currently work in primary care. I feel extremely passionate about primary school education since having my children, I am very pleased ro have been elected as a school governor and look forward to working with the school.

I am a community champion at Morrisons where I support different community’s, schools, food banks and more. I wanted to become a school governor to support children's education.
